One of the bigger surprises from the 2022 Game Awards was the announcement of Armored Core VI, developed by FromSoftware. The same developers behind Elden Ring are putting their spin on the Armored Core franchise and we now know it will be released on August 25, 2023. Heading to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon won’t be a sci-fi soulslike, FromSoftware previously confirmed.
Instead, players can assemble their mech from a wide variety of parts and weaponry before soaring freely through mission locations that redefine three-dimensional mobility. FromSoftware promises frenetic, fast-paced action that is very different than what is typically found in the developer’s recent games. Of course, players will be able to customize their loadouts between missions to find a suitable playstyle and combat style. One thing is for sure, we can expect some amazing boss battles based on FromSoftware’s reputation.
