Final Fantasy XVI’s social media profiles have announced a pre-launch celebration for the game, happening in Los Angeles on June 11 at 3:00pm PDT or 6:00pm EDT. The event will also be livestreamed, which leads us to believe this should be the date the Final Fantasy XVI demo is announced and goes live.
Previously, in an interview with Famitsu, producer Naoki Yoshida confirmed Final Fantasy XVI would get a demo that would deliver the beginning of the story and would be available about two weeks before the release date, which is set for June 22. So given that, the pre-launch celebration on June 11 lines up with the time frame Yoshida would want the demo to be released.
The next mainline entry in the Final Fantasy series is looking like one of the best yet. The game went gold over two months before its release, and the team hasn’t been shy with showing off a lot of gameplay. Considering there is about 35 hours of main story content and 70 hours of total gameplay when including side quests, this might be the Final Fantasy game fans have been waiting for, who have been disappointed ever since the release of Final Fantasy XIII.
For those who follow Yoshida and his team’s work on Final Fantasy XIV, expectations are high for them to deliver with Final Fantasy XVI. Based on their track record however, confidence is also high — especially after the release of Endwalker (although most of the team working on Final Fantasy XVI comes from Heavensward and Stormblood).
