It has already been one year since players were able to step foot in Valisthea and experience the story of Clive Rosfield. Since its initial release, the team has also produced two DLC episodes, Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide. Unfortunately, those who are still waiting for the PC version of Final Fantasy XVI will have to wait a bit longer. The team simply said that it’s still currently hard at work on the PC edition and offered no details on a possible release window.
Perhaps what’s more interesting in today’s post on social media is the following statement: “We would like to make Final Fantasy XVI available to play for as many people as possible, so watch out for that one too.” Could an announcement for an Xbox version be on the horizon? It wouldn’t be surprising considering Final Fantasy XIV is now available on Xbox, and that’s run by the same team as Final Fantasy XVI, with Naoki Yoshida at the helm. Square Enix has also expressed that it is no longer interested in exclusives.
Nonetheless, it doesn’t seem like we’ll be getting any major surprises to celebrate Final Fantasy XVI’s birthday.
