There’s plenty of excitement surrounding the release of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Square Enix’s second take on the Final Fantasy XIV MMORPG. By now, you surely know how disastrous the original release was, to the point that the Japanese developer took over two years to overhaul the game from the ground up. Those who participated in the closed beta will have access to the open beta on August 16-19, while the head start for pre-order customers will begin on August 24. The game officially launches on August 27, 2013 for the Sony PlayStation 3 and PC. Square Enix has released a rather lengthy trailer on the game in Japan, which you can view above. Of course, the video is in Japanese, but you can see what the game is all about from combat to crafting to travelling in the giant world of Eorzea.
