Released on September 30, 2025, Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles has now sold one million copies. This recreation of the classic Final Fantasy Tactics from 1997 was one of our favorite games of 2025, as the team at Creative Studio III simply nailed it with the visual changes, new voice acting, and various quality-of-life improvements. As I said in my review, not every little bit of the game has aged well, but the fact that it remains intact and still delivers one of the best gaming experiences of the year speaks volumes about how brilliant Final Fantasy Tactics really is.

Available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, and PC, Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles tells the epic story of Ramza Beoulve. There are many reasons why it’s widely considered one of the best tactics games in all of history, and if you somehow still haven’t experienced it, this remake is the best way to do so.
