Digital Extremes closed out TennoCon 2026 in London, Ontario this weekend with the reveal of Warframe: Tau, an update taking players beyond the Origin System for the first time in the game’s history. The new region of space orbits a binary star and arrives later this year, headlining a show that also named Warframe’s fall update, opened Soulframe to everyone for a weekend, and confirmed a Fortnite crossover.

Warframe: Tau

Your first steps into Tau begin in Fornax, a lawless Sentient ring city drenched in waves of madness-inducing black rain. The TennoCon gameplay demo had players sneaking into the heart of the city, past the addicts in its slums and the thugs working its docks, to reach the casino at its center. Digital Extremes says this is only the beginning, with another still-unrevealed location launching alongside the full update later in 2026.

Leading the way is Brysko, a noir-inspired Warframe working with Albrecht Entrati to infiltrate the Sentient criminal underworld. He’s silent to the world but narrates everything through an inner monologue, and he comes with two signature weapons: the Corecracker, an Exalted Pistol, and Rain & Shine, a pair of fist weapons. Standing between him and answers are the Fornax Drowners, a new faction of Sentient enemies that has evolved well beyond the familiar foes of the Origin System, all working under the Hunra, the kingpin who controls the city’s rackets through violence, fear, and Bloom.

Tau also introduces Portau, Warframe’s first original card game, built on suits of Blooms, Cores, Moons, and Suns and played at the tables of the Fornax casino. The demo’s musical number, “View From The Top,” sung by the Sentient crooner Larynde, now has a visualizer available on the official Warframe YouTube channel.

Your Own Personal Vessel

Players who entered this year’s in-game TennoLive Relay got the first look at the Vessel, a new personal ship joining the Tenno fleet. The Relay stays open until July 13 at 7:00 AM Pacific (10:00 AM Eastern), and starting that same day, anyone who has completed Vor’s Prize will be able to view and personalize their Vessel from any Dry Dock on the Star Chart. Digital Extremes also teased two characters, Arturos and Zioa, who will answer their calling later this year.

Iceblade of Narin Arrives This Fall

Before Tau opens, Warframe has a fall update on the way, now officially named Iceblade of Narin. The update introduces the game’s 66th Warframe, two new Deluxe Collections, a rework, and the next Prime Access release, with more details coming during the next Devstream on September 4.

Banshee is getting her first Deluxe Collection since 2016, a nightmare and nocturnal-themed set designed by community artist Mischka, along with a rework aimed at improving her sound-based abilities and overall playability. Qorvex is receiving a Deluxe skin of his own inspired by gargoyles and gothic architecture, while Citrine will headline the next Prime Access later this year alongside upgraded Prime weapons and accessories.

Soulframe Opens to Everyone This Weekend

Digital Extremes is also using TennoCon to open Soulframe’s gates, running an Open Preludes Weekend through Sunday, July 12 at 8:59 PM Pacific (11:59 PM Eastern). Anyone who creates an account and downloads the game during the window keeps permanent access through every future Preludes update.

The Soulframe portion of the show also premiered Warsongs: A Soulframe Fable, introducing Bayor, an Envoy sworn to Synod and the Ode, along with childhood memories explored alongside Doyen, wolf-back riding, and a new progression path built around embracing the corruption of the Vadagar. The full event recap covers a new Pact, the upcoming addition of fishing, mounts, and the Mendicant Reinbreaker, a boss you can challenge in-game right now.

Everything Else From TennoCon 2026

August is shaping up to be a busy month for Warframe, starting with the return of the Dog Days summer event on August 4, which brings four new Glyphs designed by community artist SpaceWaifu. Amir of the Hex follows with Amir’s Shockwave, a double dose of 1999-themed content that includes his own remixed edition of Nightwave with new rewards and a KIM narrative adventure called Fables & Frontiers: Running Late.

Outside the game, Warframe is crossing into Fortnite for the first time with an Excalibur Outfit, letting players drop onto the Island as the franchise’s original swordsman. Digital Extremes is also taking TennoVIP on tour with developer stops planned for South Korea, China, London, and Glasgow, and the Mesa Heirloom Collection is available now, adding her signature brimmed Signa and travel-worn Duster attachments. Warframe: Tau still doesn’t have a firm date beyond its later-this-year window, though Digital Extremes has confirmed there’s more of the Tau System left to show before launch.
