Square Enix has debuted the first gameplay trailer for the upcoming Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake during today’s Nintendo Direct. It’s a follow-up to last year’s Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, which chronologically takes place before Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake. So for those who played through Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, and there are at least two million of you, you’ll want to continue the story of the Erdrick Trilogy by picking up Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake later this year when it launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.

The game will combine full remakes of Dragon Quest I and Dragon Quest II, developed by Square Enix Team Asano with the iconic HD-2D graphic style. This is the sixth title produced with that art style, and hopefully, many more are in development—cough cough Chrono Trigger. As of now, Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake still doesn’t have a release date, but it’s slated for sometime this year.
