BioWare’s Dragon Age: The Veilguard is launching on October 31, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. Pacific (12:00 p.m. Eastern), and the developer has shared the game’s PC requirements. Preloading is already available for Xbox Series X|S owners, while PlayStation 5 owners will have to wait until October 29 at 9:00 a.m. Pacific (12:00 p.m. Eastern). Since the game won’t include any third-party DRM on any platform, there is no preloading for PC, which means it will be downloadable and playable at launch time.
The game was designed with flexibility in mind, and for PC users, that means minimum requirements of an i5-8400 or Ryzen 3 3300X with an NVIDIA GTX 970 / GTX 1650 or an AMD Radeon R9 290X. Dragon Age: The Veilguard will require 100 GB of open storage, and while an SSD isn’t required, you’ll be playing at minimum performance without one. The game is Steam Deck Verified. BioWare has separated the PC requirements into two categories, one with Ray Tracing off and one with Ray Tracing on. You can see those below.
BioWare Studio Technical Director, Maciej Kurowski, also confirmed Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be enhanced for PlayStation 5 Pro, with both Fidelity and Performance modes seeing improvements, including better resolution in 30fps Fidelity and 60fps Performance modes. The PlayStation 5 Pro also enables Raytraced Ambient Occlusion (RTAO) in the 60fps Performance mode, a feature available on the base PlayStation 5 only in the 30fps Fidelity mode.
