Last weekend, those who pre-ordered Diablo IV got access to the game’s beta, but starting Friday, everyone will have a chance to check it out. The Diablo IV open beta will start at 9:00am PDT on March 24th if all goes as planned and it will run until March 27th at 12:00pm PDT. We wouldn’t be too hopeful of getting in at exactly 9:00am on Friday though.
After the early access open beta, Blizzard announced a few bug fixes that will be going live for the real open beta:
All Platform Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue with Ashava’s spawn timer. She will now spawn on Saturday March 25th at 10:00am / 12:00pm / 10:00pm PDT and Sunday March 26th at 12:00am PDT.
- Fixed an issue where the queue timer would not display a time despite the player still being in queue.
- Addressed issues that should result in improved queue times.
- Fixed an issue where players would sometimes become blocked during the “In Her Wake” quest.
- Fixed an issue where players were unable to select High Texture Settings with 16GB of RAM.
- Fixed an issue where the UI would incorrectly show completed challenges as “Not Started”.
- Fixed multiple miscellaneous crash related issues.
Console Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where the second player in couch co-op could not drop in during the game prologue.
Unlike the early access open beta, players will be able to check out the Necromancer and Druid classes during this weekend’s open beta. I walked away feeling a bit underwhelmed by the first Diablo IV open beta, and I don’t expect much to change after this weekend. I wasn’t exactly alone — check out Kripparian’s hour-long video of his impressions of Diablo IV.
