Diablo IV has had a rollercoaster of a release, with a great degree of excitement and positive vibes leading up to the game’s launch, before it completely reversed course due to a poor choice of changes from the developers. We covered a lot of our concerns for the game in our review, and at this point, we’re still wondering how long it will be until we hop back into the world of Sanctuary.

Despite it being nearly two months away, Blizzard Entertainment has already announced the second season for Diablo IV: Season of Blood. It will begin on October 17 and will introduce a new Questline for players to uncover, along with Vampiric Powers to wield, and five additional endgame bosses with the ability to target specific Unique and Uber Unique items as a drop. Here are some other changes that have been announced for Season of Blood:

  • Gems no longer take up inventory space
  • Stash can be searched and filtered
  • Rewards will carry over when completed on any prior character beyond Altars of Lilith and Map Discovery (potion charges, skill points, paragon points, Obol cap upgrades)
  • Updated Elemental Resistance systems
  • Vulnerable, Overpower, and Critical Strike damage updates

The announcement came during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, where actress Gemma Chan was also revealed to play Erys, a vampire hunter who is being introduced in Season of Blood.
