Dave the Diver’s biggest expansion finally has a release date. Developer Mintrocket announced during the Future Games Show Spring Showcase that the In the Jungle DLC will launch on June 18 across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, and PC. I covered the DLC’s new features back in December, and it’s shaping up to be a pretty significant departure from the base game.
In the Jungle takes Dave out of the Blue Hole and drops him into a freshwater lake surrounded by a jungle village called Utara. The DLC launches with approximately 10 hours of content, introducing new encounters, mechanics, and a brand new restaurant called Bancho Grill. Unlike Bancho Sushi, where movement was more restricted, the Grill lets Dave move freely throughout the restaurant, serving customers across multiple areas. The village itself operates on a real-time clock, and Dave can spend his days diving, gathering resources, and building relationships with locals. As those relationships deepen, villagers will start showing up as diners at Bancho Grill.
On the combat side, Dave gets a new weapon called the Jungle Gun, which can transform into net guns, shotguns, snipers, or regular guns, giving players the freedom to adapt on the fly. For those unfamiliar with the game, Dave the Diver was one of the breakout hits of 2023 and has since launched on Xbox as well. It’s a single-player adventure RPG where you explore the ocean during the day and run a sushi restaurant at night, and it’s one of the most unique games I’ve played in the past few years.
Mintrocket also announced two new physical editions for PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 in partnership with Silver Lining Direct. The Complete Edition includes the base game and all DLC on one disc or cartridge, while the Collector’s Edition packs in extras like a Bancho Sushi restaurant acrylic standee, metal pin badges, a dolphin pendant necklace, postcards, and more. Both editions are available for preorder now.
