The Child of Light release date has been set for April 30, 2014, Ubisoft has announced. The game is a classic RPG that will feature turn-based combat, over 200 skills to unlock and over 600 crafting combinations. It is being developed and created by the Ubisoft Montreal team and will use the UbiArt Framework engine that is seen in Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends. Inspired by fairy tales, the game will be available on the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U and Steam for PC.

Players will take on the role of Aurora, a child stolen from her home and in her quest to return, must bring back the sun, the moon and the stars that are being held captive by the mysterious Queen of the Night. The game will also feature a playable companion named Igniculus, the firefly.
