Recently, the team at Freehold Games shared an update on the game’s path to 1.0, which includes a tutorial to help new players understand the traditional roguelike. Players can now test the tutorial beta on the game’s beta branch, which can be accessed by going to Properties > Betas and choosing “beta – beta” from the dropdown. The tutorial teaches the very basics of Caves of Qud and ends with the player’s character arriving in Joppa. Experienced players might even learn a thing or two in the tutorial.

Caves of Qud is set to release sometime this year, but it doesn’t have a definitive release date yet. The team is hard at work putting the finishing touches on major features, including the last segment of the game’s main story. As a reminder, the game and soundtrack prices are getting an increase on October 29, so now is a good time to pick up the game if you’re interested.
