In an interview with Siliconera, PlatinumGames’ Hideki Kamiya admitted that he’d like to see Bayonetta and Okami spinoffs on the Nintendo 2DS and 3DS. The creator of the upcoming The Wonderful 101 and also the mind behind Resident Evil 2, Okami, Viewtiful Joe, Bayonetta, and Devil May Cry, admitted that he’s thought about portable games featuring main characters from his franchises.
Given the opportunity, Kamiya would like to see a game featuring Jeanne from Bayonetta on the portable Nintendo 2DS and 3DS consoles. Obviously it wouldn’t be something as big in scale as the upcoming Bayonetta 2 on the Wii U, but something light-hearted and fun, where Jeanne would be “a history teacher and the kind of fun things that would come out of a scenario like that.”
As for Okami, Kamiya would like to see a spinoff that is less focused on the idea of saving the world, but rather a game that’s focused on the smaller world of the fairy Issun.
The Wonderful 101 launches for the Nintendo Wii U in North America on September 15, 2013. It’s currently available in Europe.
