Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, developed by Don’t Nod, has had its release date pushed back to February 13, 2024. The announcement comes jointly from Don’t Nod and publisher Focus Entertainment: “We have decided to postpone the release of this new franchise by three months, as the market is experiencing an intense release cycle for AAA titles on PC and consoles at the end of the year. We are convinced that a commercial release of Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden during a less saturated period will give it the attention it deserves.” Initially slated for a November 7, 2023 release, the game’s launch has now been postponed.
Although October does have a few major releases including Alan Wake 2 and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, one could argue that February 2024 is more crowded than November 2023 with the releases of Persona 3 Reload, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Helldivers 2, and Mario vs. Donkey Kong, to name a few. Still, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden isn’t the only game that has pushed its release to 2024. Earlier this month, Alone in the Dark was also postponed to January 2024 for similar reasons.
In any case, the additional time will allow Don’t Nod to further refine their upcoming adventure that’s heading to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
