Avowed update 1.4 is now live, and developer Obsidian Entertainment has shared a roadmap detailing what players can expect in the coming months. Avowed, which launched on February 13 this year, is an action RPG set in the same universe as Pillars of Eternity. The recent 1.4 update added several new features, such as Arachnophobia Mode, which replaces spider enemies with round, floating orbs. Other highlights include map exploration enhancements, the ability to wait at the Party Camp to advance time, improved Soul Pod functionality, and new settings options. You can learn more about update 1.4 in the patch notes here.
As for what’s in development, Avowed will receive another major update this summer that includes cooking and crafting improvements, new NPC abilities and behaviors, new active and passive abilities, new Unique weapons and armor, and Custom Map markers. In the fall, Avowed will finally get New Game Plus and Photo modes, a new weapon type, the ability to change appearance in the world, new character presets, and additional Godlike-feature presets.
The team at Obsidian Entertainment also added that it’s working on localized versions for Korean and Japanese, along with ongoing improvements for French. No timeline yet on when those updates will be launched, other than when they are ready.
