There’s so much to love about Astro Bot, from its cleverly designed levels to its accessible gameplay, but what really stands out, as I mentioned in my review, is the soundtrack. Primarily composed by Kenneth C M Young, the 87-track soundtrack is now available on major streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music. Other contributors to the soundtrack include Tadashi Yatabe, Kemmei Adachi, Takuro Iga, Sachiko Miyano, and Hirofumi Sasaki. Sony also has the soundtrack for Astro Bot Rescue Mission and Astro’s Playroom available.
Released on September 6, 2024, Astro Bot is one of the best games I’ve played this year and will likely earn a spot on my all-time favorites list. It’s an absolute joy and a breath of fresh air in an industry increasingly focused on challenging, unforgiving games with soulslike mechanics. If you own a PlayStation 5, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy, even if you’re not typically a fan of 3D platformers.
