Game of the Year winner at The Game Awards 2024, Astro Bot, has announced another free update that includes five new levels. The first level is available today, and subsequent ones will be added weekly each Thursday at 6:00 AM Pacific (9:00 AM Eastern) through March 13. Today’s addition is titled Tick-Tock Shock, while next week’s level will be Thrust or Bust. Then, on February 27, players will receive Cock-A-Doodle-Doom before Hard to Bear is added a week later. The final new level, which goes live on March 13, is called Armored Hardcore, hinting that we’ll be rescuing an Armored Core bot.

Each of these new levels will reside in the brand-new Vicious Void Galaxy and come with a brand-new Special Bot to rescue. Once players complete each level, they can replay them in Time Attack mode with online rankings. Please note that you’ll have to complete the main game to take on these new challenges.

In addition to the five new levels and Time Attack mode with online rankings, today’s Astro Bot update also adds enhancements for PlayStation 5 Pro. Owners of the more powerful console can now enjoy an improved version of the game that maintains 60 FPS while achieving a constant best resolution.

The latest update comes after Astro Bot rolled out five new speedrun levels and ten Special Bots beginning in October. The game also added a Winter Wonder level on December 12 to spread joy during the holiday season. In my review, I praised Astro Bot for being a game that prioritizes fun, bucking the recent trend of games that focus more on difficulty and soulslike elements.
