As promised, Ubisoft has revealed the full details on Valley of Memory, a free story expansion heading to Assassin’s Creed Mirage on November 18, 2025. Offering up to six hours of additional gameplay and story, Valley of Memory takes place before the main adventure’s finale. The adventure begins with Basim learning his long-lost father might still be alive in AlUla, sending him on a new journey to confront a dangerous band of robbers threatening the valley.
The free story expansion takes place in an entirely new region and map, so along with the new main quest and assassination targets, players will also find new side quests, contracts, and more. Ubisoft also teased that Valley of Memory features a unique twist on Assassin’s Creed’s black box missions, but said players will have to discover it for themselves. Some of the locations Basim will visit in this ninth-century rendition of AlUla include the Musa Ibn Musayr fortress, the Valley of the Stones, and the necropolis of Hegra.
Along with the new story content, Valley of Memory brings improvements to the game that also apply to the main adventure in Baghdad. With the update, all black box missions and contracts will be replayable once completed. Each of these replayable missions will have distinct challenges, so players will need to find new and creative ways to deal with them.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is also getting parkour updates, such as the ability to turn on manual jumping, so players can weave together free-running sequences that were previously impossible. A new control scheme is also being added, with the goal of smoothening the experience of leaping from rooftop to rooftop. Another addition to the parkour system will let players customize side and back ejects, regardless of the landing spot.
That’s not all, as the team is also adding a new skill called Engineer 2, which will allow Basim to equip all level 1 modifications to his tools. A new level 3 modification has also been added to all tools. Finally, two additional difficulty levels will be added.
Valley of Memory is being developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux and Ubisoft Paris, with support from Ubisoft Bucharest, Ubisoft Da Nang, and Ubisoft Montpellier. Expect full patch notes for the story expansion closer to its launch on November 18.
