Xbox Games Showcase 2023 was full of exciting announcements, and Clockwork Revolution is one of the most exciting premieres we saw. It comes from inXile Entertainment, with the project led by game director Chad Moore and principal designer Jason Anderson. The game takes place in the Victorian-era metropolis of Avalon, where players will see steam trains flying overhead and wealthy industrialists replacing their limbs with ornate clockwork prosthetics. Of course, there are also mechanical servants doing their masters’ bidding. This world is carefully constructed by Lady Ironwood, who has used a time travel device to change key moments in Avalon’s history.
In the game, players will find a device known as the Chronometer that allows them to travel back in time. They’ll be able to influence the past and then return to the present to see the results of their decisions. Clockwork Revolution looks very ambitious, and if inXile can successfully deliver on its vision, it might be one of the biggest surprises in recent years. Unfortunately, the game is still early in development and what we see in the trailer below is a pre-alpha sneak peek. Still, this is one game to keep an eye on!
