Despite being released at the end of April, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor led the way for PlayStation 5 downloads on the PlayStation store last month for both North America and the EU, with Dead Island 2 taking second place for both regions. From there, the similarities end. In the U.S. and Canada, the top five was rounded out by MLB The Show 23, Grand Theft Auto V, and NBA 2K23; in the EU, the remaining games on the list are Grand Theft Auto V, FIFA 23, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.
Despite releasing nearly two years ago, The Last of Us Part II topped the PlayStation 4 charts in both North America and the EU. Americans and Canadians also downloaded Minecraft, NBA 2K23, Red Dead Redemption 2, and MLB The Show 23, making up the top five most downloaded PlayStation 4 games in April 2023. In the EU, the order for the remaining PS4 top five is: FIFA 23, Minecraft, Grand Theft Auto V, and Red Dead Redemption 2.
Sony also gave some stats on PS VR2 games, again separated by region. In the U.S. and Canada, Creed: Rise to Glory – Championship Edition was the most downloaded PS VR2 game in April 2023, followed by Pavlov, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution, Job Simulator, and Kayak VR: Mirage. In the EU, the top five downloaded PS VR2 games in the EU include: Pavlov, Creed: Rise to Glory – Championship Edition, Kayak VR: Mirage, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution, and Job Simulator. The top five titles are essentially the same as North America, but in a different order.
The top-three downloaded PSVR games in April 2023 were the same in both regions: Beat Saber, Job Simulator, and SUPERHOT VR. Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 dominated the Free to Play charts for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in both regions. In the U.S. and Canada, however, Overwatch 2 was in the third spot, while Fall Guys took that spot in the EU.
