Twitter has been a bit of a mess, to say the least, since Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk acquired the social media network. It appears the latest impact from the acquisition is Microsoft disabling the ability to share game uploads to Twitter directly from an Xbox console or Game Bar on Windows. Although Microsoft is keeping quiet on the official reason why, it is likely due to Twitter’s new API pricing.
Currently, Nintendo and Sony consoles are still able to share directly to Twitter, and it will be interesting to see if that remains the case in months to come. Then again, Microsoft and Musk aren’t playing nice with one another at the moment. A recent tweet revealed Microsoft has dropped Twitter from its advertising platform since it refuses to pay Twitter’s API fees. Musk’s response, however, was pretty much what you’d expect from the eccentric billionaire who seems to be making more enemies than friends these days.
