The PlayStation VR2 is set to launch on February 22, 2023 and one of the most exciting titles heading to the next-generation virtual reality headset at launch is Horizon Call of the Mountain. The spinoff title is based on the Horizon franchise, but will star a new character named Ryas, who is a disgraced former soldier. Players will ascend the towering peaks of the Carja Sundom to unravel a new mystery surrounding the machines in VR.
Aloy won’t be missing from the game however, as players will run into the main character of the Horizon series along with other familiar faces. If there was ever a franchise that could benefit from VR, Horizon would be it. The series offers some of the best combat I’ve ever experienced in a video game and it will be interesting to see how well it translates in VR.
Along with announcing that Horizon Call of the Mountain has gone gold, Guerilla Games has shared the first track release for the game’s soundtrack — Ryas’ theme by Alistair Kerley.
