Grinding Gear Games confirmed that Path of Exile 2’s next major update, The Third Edict, is set to go live on August 29 at 1:00 PM Pacific (4:00 PM Eastern) on PC and consoles. Before that, though, we’ll get a GGG Live broadcast on August 20 at 1:00 PM Pacific (4:00 PM Eastern), covering all the details for The Third Edict. Twitch Drops will be enabled for the livestream, but rewards haven’t been announced yet. Following the livestream, Jonathan and Mark will answer questions with ZiggyD, and we’ll get the full patch notes at the end.

Unfortunately, the teaser trailer is vague, so fans will have to wait a few more days to find out what’s in the update. Obviously, we’re hoping for new classes and more Acts. The first major update for Path of Exile 2 arrived in April, following the game’s Early Access release in December 2024. That update, titled Dawn of the Hunt, met with mixed reception, although Grinding Gear Games worked quickly to address some concerns.

As a group, we really enjoyed Path of Exile 2 at its Early Access launch, although it had its flaws. Ultimately, Path of Exile 2 felt like a modern, next-generation ARPG in its mechanics, but not necessarily in its features.
