Street Fighter 6 is kicking off Year 3 on August 5, when the iconic Sagat joins the roster across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC. As the final boss in the original Street Fighter game, Sagat’s towering presence has been missed in the latest entry in the franchise. His moveset is inspired by Muay Thai with a focus on uppercuts, knees, and fireballs. Along with Sagat’s addition to the roster, a new stage called Proud Spire will be released, which will be familiar to Street Fighter II veterans.
At launch, Sagat will have two outfits available. The first is a newer look with a darker Muay Thai-inspired theme, while the second outfit pays homage to his Street Fighter II appearance with Muay Thai shorts accompanied by hand and foot wraps. The second outfit can be earned in World Tour by maxing out the bond with Sagat or purchased with Fighter Coins. Like previous DLC characters, Sagat can be unlocked by purchasing the Year 3 Ultimate Pass or Year 3 Character Pass. Joining Sagat in Year 3 are C. Viper, Alex, and Ingrid.
Ahead of his launch, Sagat will be playable at EVO 2025, which runs from August 1 to August 3 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Players can also look forward to the Outfit 4 swimsuits for seven characters: Cammy, Luke, Chun-Li, Manon, Jamie, Kimberly, and A.K.I., available on August 5.
We loved our time with Street Fighter 6 and revisit it every now and then. In my review, I likened it to Monster Hunter World for the Monster Hunter franchise, lowering the barrier to entry and bringing newcomers to the series.
Street Fighter 6 Sagat Moveset
