Updated July 15, 2025, at 6:15 PM Pacific Time: The press release cited a $49.99 suggested retail price, but the collection is actually priced at $59.99. The article has been updated to reflect the accurate price of $59.99.

Square Enix has announced the Life is Strange Collection, exclusive to retail stores as a physical-only release for PlayStation 5. Launching on October 2, 2025, the Life is Strange Collection features all five single-player titles and their DLCs, including preorder bonuses. The five games are:

  • Life is Strange Remastered
  • Life is Strange: Before the Storm Remastered
  • Life is Strange 2
  • Life is Strange: True Colors Deluxe Edition
  • Life is Strange: Double Exposure Ultimate Edition

Having won over 100 awards since its inception, the Life is Strange franchise had a strong start with Max and Chloe’s story in Life is Strange and Before the Storm. Life is Strange 2 and Life is Strange: True Colors weren’t as well received, but the attempt to return to Max’s story in Double Exposure has seemingly laid the franchise to rest. To be clear, Square Enix hasn’t confirmed any future plans for the franchise, but the release of this compilation suggests it is either undergoing a significant change or that Square Enix is moving on.

Priced at $59.99, the box set includes a disc with Life is Strange: True Colors and Life is Strange: Double Exposure and a digital code to redeem the other three titles and all associated DLC and preorder incentives. I loved Life is Strange and Before the Storm but wasn’t able to finish Life is Strange 2. I did run through Life is Strange: True Colors in a weekend and didn’t find it particularly memorable. While I was really excited when Life is Strange: Double Exposure was announced, I’ve decided to put it in the backlog after initial reviews were published.

I still recommend the franchise to those who love story-driven games that don’t put a big focus on gameplay. It does, however, seem like the genre has moved on from the Life is Strange formula since it couldn’t find a way to evolve over the years.
