At the last Sony State of Play, the company confirmed that a deep dive into Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Yōtei would arrive in July. We now know the Ghost of Yōtei State of Play will take place on July 10 at 2:00 PM Pacific (5:00 PM Eastern) and will feature nearly 20 minutes of gameplay hosted by Sucker Punch’s creative directors Jason Connell and Nate Fox. Along with sharing more details on Atsu’s quest, the team will show off new weapons, new ways to personalize the gameplay experience, special modes, and more.

Originally announced in September 2024, Ghost of Yōtei isn’t exactly a direct sequel to Ghost of Tsushima. Taking place more than 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yōtei features a new protagonist, Atsu, and is set in the heart of Ezo, now known as Hokkaido. It is Sucker Punch’s first game built from the ground up for PlayStation 5, and we’re expecting some breathtaking scenery considering how mesmerizing some areas of Ghost of Tsushima looked.

Ghost of Yōtei is set to launch on October 2, 2025, for PlayStation 5, and we’re sure it’ll eventually head to PC just like Ghost of Tsushima.
