In an interesting turn of events, Xbox Series X|S gamers will finally get their hands on the Sony-published Helldivers 2 on August 26. Coincidentally, that’s the same day PlayStation gamers will be able to check out Gears of War: Reloaded, which is an Xbox IP. To be clear, Helldivers 2 is developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony PlayStation, so don’t think that God of War and The Last of Us are going to start making their way to Xbox consoles.
Originally launched in February 2024, Helldivers 2 quickly won over the hearts of millions of players, having sold over 15 million units. The cooperative third-person shooter has players team up with up to three squadmates to spread peace, liberty, and Managed Democracy by using the most explosive tools at their disposal. The game may lack depth, but it offers We enjoyed playing this together for a few dozen hours but found it repetitive after a while.
“We know gamers have been asking for this for some time and we are so excited to bring more Helldivers into our game,” said Game Director Mikael Eriksson. “We have so much more in store for the future months and years – and the more players we have the more stories we can tell! The fight for Super Earth has only just begun.”
