Even in 2025, VR gaming is still really niche, despite efforts from Valve and PlayStation. There are some standout titles, like Half-Life: Alyx, but for the most part, it hasn’t lived up to the expectations of fully immersive experiences. Most would agree that racing games are the best current use of VR, other than, say, Beat Saber. Today’s announcement of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Empire City likely isn’t going to set the world of VR on fire, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited.

Currently in development by Cortopia Studios—the team behind Gorn 2—Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Empire City is a VR game scheduled to launch in 2026. It’s going to be a first-person, action-adventure game where players will have to master each Turtle’s signature weapon with precision strikes and blocks while scaling urban environments with fluid parkour. Naturally, the title will feature some of the franchise’s best villains, though Shredder won’t be around since it takes place after his demise. As the first-ever Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles VR game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Empire City has my inner child screaming with glee that it’s even in development.

There aren’t very many details about the game yet, but there are store pages up on Meta and Steam. What we do know is that it’ll offer up to four-player co-op, which should make for a fun time even if the gameplay isn’t very deep.
