Around here, we have a general policy of not reporting on unsubstantiated leaks or rumors. But for those who’ve been paying attention to the internet over the past week or so, you’ll know there have been numerous screenshots leaked from the Virtuos website that all but confirm The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is real. Not only has the remaster been long rumored, but industry insiders are also confident it’ll be released the same day it’s announced. Fortunately, we only have to wait until tomorrow to find out.
Bethesda has confirmed that “All will be revealed….” on April 22 at 8:00 AM Pacific (11:00 AM Eastern) with a broadcast on YouTube. Based on all the rumors, the game will more than likely be available shortly after. If it does release tomorrow, it’ll be interesting to see whether it impacts games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which is set to release on Thursday, April 24. Elder Scrolls fans are desperate for something to play—even if it’s just a remastered version of an old favorite. Some fans consider Oblivion the best in the series, and I know plenty of people who will drop whatever they’re playing for Oblivion Remastered the moment it’s available.
Since Bethesda has remained quiet on The Elder Scrolls VI since its announcement years ago, Oblivion Remastered may have to tide fans over for the foreseeable future.
