Gamers in Europe, the U.K., Australia, and New Zealand will have to deal with a price increase for the PlayStation 5 console starting on April 14. In a short statement, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the price changes, attributing it to a challenging economic environment, including high inflation and fluctuating exchange rates. The price increase only affects the standard PlayStation 5, while the price for the PlayStation 5 Pro remains unchanged.

In Europe, the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition will be €499.99, while the price of the standard PlayStation 5 with a disc drive remains unchanged. In the U.K., the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition will be £429.99, and like the rest of Europe, the price of the standard PlayStation 5 remains the same. Things are different in Australia, however, with both models getting a price increase. The standard PlayStation 5 with a disc drive will be AUD $829.95 while the Digital Edition is AUD $749.95. In New Zealand, the disc version goes to NZD $949.95, while the Digital Edition is NZD $859.95.

While it may not be much of a consolation, Sony is lowering the price of the standalone PlayStation 5 Disc Drive at the same time. In Europe, it’ll be €79.99 while in the U.K. it’ll be priced at £69.99. In Australia, the Disc Drive will become AUD $124.95, while New Zealand gamers will get a NZD $139.95 price tag.
