One of the best surprises of 2023 was Lies of P, an action role-playing game that offers a unique interpretation of Pinocchio. This summer, the game will receive a prequel DLC expansion called Overture that takes players back to the beginning of the Lies of P storyline. The DLC’s first gameplay trailer was unveiled at today’s State of Play, and fans of the original game should pay close attention because there are intriguing reveals. Lies of P: Overture will explore the hidden stories of Krat, taking players back in time to refine, forge, and complete the story as the team envisioned it.
According to Lies of P Director Jiwon Choi, Overture feels like the team subconsciously created a developer’s cut since the production crew had numerous stories and features they wanted to explore with the base game. Throughout development, they brainstormed continuously until the very end, and Overture incorporates many of these elements that didn’t originally make the cut. Essentially, Lies of P: Overture completes the story the team has always wanted to tell with the game.
