Today, during a Capcom Spotlight broadcast, the company announced that a remaster for Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny is currently in the works. Originally released in 2002, the remaster version is set to launch sometime in 2025 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny is the best-selling entry in the series with fans loving its flashy gameplay and branching storyline.

In addition, Capcom provided an update on Onimusha: Way of the Sword, an all-new entry in the franchise. The game is set in feudal Japan, specifically in Kyoto, and tells the story of a new protagonist wielding the Oni Gauntlet. Launching next year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, expect Onimusha: Way of the Sword to follow the series’ traditions of satisfying combat as players slice through their enemies and absorb their souls in battle.
