Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, our favorite game of 2024, will be available on PC starting January 23, 2025. Square Enix confirmed today that the game is officially Steam Deck Verified, allowing owners of the handheld PC to enjoy this epic RPG on the go. For those playing on a PC, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will support up to 120 FPS and include a range of visual enhancements, such as refined lighting, environment detail, and more detailed textures. The game will also support NVIDIA DLSS for further improvements to frame rate and image quality, along with VRR. PC requirements for the game have been shared previously.
To celebrate the announcement that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is Steam Deck Verified, the team created a special chocobo-themed Steam Deck—though they admit it’s not the best idea to cover the Steam Deck in chocobo feathers.
In my Final Fantasy VII Rebirth review, I described it as a beautiful and emotional reimagining of a classic story, but most importantly, it proves that the Final Fantasy VII remake series is in good hands, being one of the best games I’ve ever played.
