One of our most anticipated games of the year, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition has released a new trailer packed full of details about the upcoming remaster. Originally released as a Wii U title, Xenoblade Chronicles X is a sci-fi RPG set in the year 2054. The Definitive Edition heading to Switch features enhanced visuals, additional story elements, new characters, Skell mechs to unlock, and more. With the launch of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, the Switch will be home to the entire Xenoblade Chronicles franchise.

For those who are unfamiliar with Xenoblade Chronicles X, the game takes place after Earth has been destroyed by an intergalactic war between two alien species. Humanity is now on the brink of extinction and a small number of survivors have managed to escape on the USS White Whale. Unfortunately, the ship crashes on the planet Mira, and the story unfolds as players work as members of the New Los Angeles colony’s BLADE organization to restore what’s left of humanity.

As a huge fan of the Xenoblade Chronicles series, Xenoblade Chronicles X was my favorite game on the Wii U, and I’m excited that more people now have an opportunity to experience it. Those who purchase the digital version of the game on the Nintendo eShop or My Nintendo Store before April 6 will receive the in-game Exploration Support Pack. If you prefer a physical copy and want the Exploration Support Pack, you’ll have to get the game from GameStop. The Exploration Support Pack includes the following bonus items:

  • 100,000 credits
  • Melee weapon: Advanced Iron Knife
  • Ranged weapon: Advanced Storm Assault Rifle
  • Survival armor series: Survival Goggles, Survival Bodywear, Survival Glove R, Survival Glove L, Survival Footwear
  • Six weapon augments: Melee Accuracy Up I, Ranged Accuracy Up I, Melee Attack Up I, Ranged Attack Up I, Theroid Slayer I, Secondary CD Reducer I
  • Five armor augments: Max HP Up I, Max TP Up I, Evasion Up I, Potential Up I, Physical Resistance Up I
