Hazelight Studios, the developers of 2021’s Game of the Year, It Takes Two, have unveiled their next game: Split Fiction. The ever eccentric Josef Fares, Director of Hazelight Studios, took to the stage at The Game Awards 2024 to unveil his next creation, which is obviously another co-op game. This time, the story revolves around two game developers who are trapped in the world they created. Like previous games from Hazelight Studios, only one person needs to own a copy in order for two players to play, even in online co-op. Best of all, we don’t have to wait very long to play it, as Split Fiction launches on March 6, 2025, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
It was recently announced that It Takes Two has sold 20 million units, a very impressive figure considering only one of the two players needs to own the game, which means 40 million players have experienced the game. We’re excited to see Split Fiction, which appears to focus on a divide between fantasy and sci-fi worlds.
