Ahead of the game’s December 5 launch, Marvel Rivals has revealed several more characters joining the hero shooter, including fan-favorite Squirrel Girl. The launch trailer also introduces Black Widow, Cloak & Dagger, Iron Fist, and Wolverine, bringing the roster to 33 characters. Since the character reveal trailer for Squirrel Girl went live today, we expect NetEase Games to unveil a new character trailer each day leading up to the launch. Marvel Rivals will feature 33 playable characters by the end of Season 0, the month-long launch season, meaning some of these characters won’t be available at launch.
Marvel Rivals, one of our top games to play in December, is a team-based PvP shooter featuring 6v6 action from NetEase Games. As a free-to-play title, all eyes will be on how its monetization is handled. The game clearly draws inspiration from Overwatch but includes a unique mechanic called Team-Up Skills, allowing players to combine with other characters for powerful attacks. We’re cautiously optimistic about Marvel Rivals, as what we’ve seen so far looks promising and fun.
