Although it was less than four years ago, the initial launch of Cyberpunk 2077 feels almost unreal given the game’s current success. CD Projekt Red announced that, as of November 26, 2024, Cyberpunk 2077 has sold 30 million copies. This includes copies sold separately and as part of the Ultimate Edition bundle. This means that the game has sold an additional five million units since October 2023, when CD Projekt Red announced the 25 million milestone.

Last year, the game received a massive 2.0 update that added and redesigned numerous features, available to all players. Cyberpunk 2077 also launched the Phantom Liberty expansion in September 2023, now bundled in the Ultimate Edition. It’s an impressive turnaround for a game that had significant hype but failed to deliver at its initial launch. Hopefully, the company has learned a few things as it looks forward to developing The Witcher 4.
