The PlayStation VR2 title Hitman World of Assassination is now launching on March 27, 2025. Originally slated for a December 2024 release, the game has been rescheduled to allow the team to polish it and add a few extras, such as active reloading. Hitman World of Assassination will feature dual-wielding, full ambidexterity, and room-scale implementation to create a VR experience worthy of Agent 47’s name. With the entire main campaign playable on PlayStation VR2, Hitman World of Assassination offers 20 unique locations for players to explore.

According to IO Interactive, dual-wielding and full ambidexterity were two of the most requested features for Hitman World of Assassination in VR, prompting the team to implement them on PlayStation VR2. The game also introduces active reloading, enabling players to manually eject ammo, grab a new clip, and insert it into their weapon. In addition, the sniper’s scope will be fully usable so players can show off their marksman skills.

Hitman World of Assassination on PlayStation VR2 introduces positional interactions, requiring players to physically mimic actions such as turning a TV on and off by touching the screen or hacking CCTV footage by tapping on a keyboard. They’ll even have the opportunity to poison a glass by holding and dropping a vial over it.

The game enhances immersion and realism with a physics-based approach to disguises: players can acquire outfits using positional control, grabbing, and momentum.
