One of our favorite co-op games ever, It Takes Two, has sold over 20 million copies since its release on March 25, 2021. The title won Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2021, and continues to be a strong seller. In March, Hazelight Studios confirmed It Takes Two had sold over 16 million units, so the game continues to do well. Even more impressive is that only one person needs to own the game to play with someone else, meaning over 40 million players have experienced It Takes Two.

For those who have never heard of It Takes Two, it’s a purely co-op game that requires two players either local or online. It has split-screen play and requires both players to work together in order to solve puzzles and other challenges on Cody and May’s journey. While we found the story a bit weak, the amount of variety of gameplay and how different each area played was simply a joy to experience. The game has its funny moments and is worth experiencing twice by switching characters on a subsequent playthrough.
