It’s not the Nintendo hardware announcement everyone is waiting for—that’s the Switch 2—but the Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo has made its debut. It’s an interactive alarm clock with Nintendo charm, priced at $99.99 USD and launching in early 2025. Alarmo uses motion sensor technology to respond to a user’s movements, allowing them to snooze the alarm with motion alone or turn it off by getting out of bed.
Users can choose from 35 scenes from five Nintendo games: Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, Pikmin 4, and Ring Fit Adventure. When the alarm goes off, it’ll play sounds and music from the selected scene. So, if the Inklings from Splatoon 3 are what you want to wake up to each morning, that’ll set you back $99.99.
Alarmo will also let users check Records to get data on how much they move around while sleeping. An hourly chime can also be set for the chosen title, with toggles between Steady or Gentle Modes for the morning alarm. Steady Mode has the alarm gradually getting more intense the longer the user stays in bed, while Gentle Mode delivers a more consistent intensity level. There’s also a Button Mode to make it a traditional alarm, where users can hit a tactile snooze button. Finally, Alarmo offers “sleepy sounds” to help you wind down with soothing music and sounds at a set bedtime.
Those who link their Nintendo Account to Alarm can download scenes from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons via free updates when they’re available. To purchase Alarmo at the My Nintendo Store online, users will need a Nintendo Switch Online or Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription. If you’re not a subscriber, you’ll have to pick up Alarmo at the Nintendo NY store.
