Astro Bot is one of the best games I’ve played this year, and as I near its end, I’m excited to hear that Team Asobi already has more content in the works. Announced during today’s State of Play, Astro Bot will receive a free update this fall, adding five brand-new speedrun levels and 10 new Special Bots to rescue. Unlike in the standard game, these Special Bots are obtained by beating birds racing against Astro. While not all 10 have been revealed, Team Asobi confirmed that we’ll get to welcome the Helldivers squad as well as Eve from Stellar Blade.

Naturally, with the addition of speedrun levels, there will be leaderboards so players can compete online with the whole community or their friends. While no definitive release date was announced, fall generally spans September through November.
