The next-generation sequel to Microsoft Flight Simulator, which launched in 2020, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, is releasing on November 19 for Xbox Series X|S and PC, and the game’s PC specifications have been released. The range of hardware requirements is one of the widest we’ve seen yet, with the minimum spec calling for an RX 5700 or RTX 970 and 16GB of RAM, while the ideal spec requires an RX 7900 XT or RTX 4080 and 64GB of RAM. One major change to the simulator’s architecture is the use of Cloud streaming to ensure the client remains lightweight. As a result, when players load into the sim, only the textures, meshes, and map data they need will be downloaded. This helps avoid unnecessary bandwidth and disk space usage, as evidenced by the game requiring only 50GB.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will be available on day one through PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
