Mario & Luigi are finally getting a new adventure when Mario & Luigi: Brothership launches on Nintendo Switch on November 7, 2024. The announcement was made during today’s Nintendo Direct, showcasing an island-hopping RPG where the infamous brothers set sail for Shipshape Island to navigate the world of Concordia. As the two brothers explore diverse islands, ranging from tropical rainforests to bustling cities, they’ll run into familiar faces like Peach and Bowser. Like in past Mario & Luigi games, expect to make new friends along the way too.

Today’s announcement trailer shows off how the two brothers will work together in the upcoming game. Not only will players need to strategize in combat to take advantage of powerful Bros. Attacks, they’ll also need to use special Bros. Moves to traverse the environment. Nintendo promises to deliver a “dynamic twist on turn-based combat,” and we see that briefly in the trailer.
