Today, Bungie shared numerous new details about its upcoming expansion, The Final Shape, and kicked off Destiny 2: Into the Light, a two-month content update available to all players. Into the Light will run until June 3, leading directly into the release of The Final Shape on June 4. Starting today, players can engage in Onslaught, a new wave-based defense PvE activity. Also, Brave Arsenal brings back numerous fan-favorite weapons throughout April, and The Whisper makes its return today. On May 14, Zero Hour will make a comeback, offering another Exotic mission complete with rewards and a craftable Exotic weapon. From April 9 to June 3, players can access a new social space named the Hall of Champions. Pantheon, a raid boss gauntlet event, will take place from April 30 to June 3. Lastly, on May 7, three new PvP maps will become available: Cirrus Plazas, Eventide Labs, and Dissonance.

In The Final Shape, players who harness Prismatic will have the ability to mix and match Arc, Solar, Void, Stasis, and Strand. Additionally, they’ll be able to break the known limits of Light and Darkness by entering Transcendence, a state only available when using the Prismatic subclass. While dealing both Light and Darkness damage, players will charge two meters. When both meters are filled, they can enter a temporary state of Transcendence that unlocks a new unique grenade ability as well as weapon damage bonuses.

New Exotic class items, designed specifically for the Prismatic subclass, will support Prismatic builds. Each will roll with two random Exotic perks inspired by a selection of other Exotic armor pieces, even from different classes.

Bungie also unveiled more details about the Dread, the new enemy faction. We learned more about the Grim, which take flight like bats with guns, using their screeching voice to suppress abilities. There are also the Husk, which are melee bruisers that unleash a Geist when they’re defeated. The Attendant and Weavers are Statis and Strand wielders, respectively, that use their Darkness powers to freeze players in place and pull them across the battlefield.

More information will come tomorrow, when Bungie will share a Dev Insight article about Prismatic. For now, players can enjoy the content from Into the Light and update 7.3.6—patch notes here.
