Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes was one of the first mobile games I truly became obsessed with. As a huge Star Wars fan and a lover of hero collector-type games, I played SWGOH almost daily for more than three years. Around the launch of Jedi Knight Revan, I felt the game became overly greedy, and the daily requirements, especially in a large guild, became excessive. There were days when I had to spend hours in the game, mainly through an emulator on PC, to manage everything.
I eventually walked away from the game, but there are times when I miss the camaraderie of a guild working together on a relic or figuring out deployments in Territory Wars. I haven’t kept up with the game’s recent developments, but I still talk to a few people who play it daily. While I have no interest in ever going back, I was surprised to hear that Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes is getting official PC support and that it’s launching soon. In fact, players can register for an opportunity to participate in a closed beta taking place on the EA App.
Similar to other mobile games that offer a PC version, like Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis and Marvel Snap, progress is shared on a single account so you can seamlessly switch between platforms. The PC version will support keyboard and mouse, offering the ability to remap keys to customize the experience. Additionally, the PC version will support higher resolutions and frame rates, along with antialiasing.
