Pokémon Legends: Z-A was officially announced earlier today during the Pokémon Presents broadcast. The reveal comes as part of Pokémon Day, the annual holiday celebrating the launch of the original Pokémon video games on February 27, 1996. Pokémon Legends: Z-A is set to release worldwide sometime in 2025 and will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch family of systems.
The Pokémon Company is calling Pokémon Legends: Z-A “an ambitious new entry” and plans to take players to Lumiose City, which is undergoing an urban redevelopment plan to transform it into a city where people and Pokémon can live together. We’re excited to see how Nintendo and Game Freak build on the Pokémon Legends formula introduced in Arceus. If Pokémon Legends: Z-A is set entirely in Lumiose City, it’ll be more of an urban environment than the wide-open world found in Arceus.
