Diablo IV will be the first Activision Blizzard game to arrive on Game Pass, available on the service starting March 28. The announcement was made today during the Xbox business update, where Phil Spencer, Sarah Bond, and Matt Booty addressed all the rumors that have been floating around on social media and the internet over the past week and a half. Diablo IV is just the first of many Activision and Blizzard games that will eventually be available on Game Pass, including both new releases and classic games. The team hopes to share more about other titles in the near future. In announcing the addition of Diablo IV to Game Pass, Xbox also reiterated that Game Pass will remain exclusive to Xbox platforms.
Released on June 5, 2023, Diablo IV was, in my experience, very disappointing. While the single-player campaign was decent, the endgame felt uninspired and ultimately boring. Although improvements have been made since the game’s launch, I don’t feel like the team has fully addressed some of the core issues. Still, I’m excited that a title like Diablo IV will be available on Game Pass, which I believe is one of the best values in gaming at the moment.
