We are still over two weeks away from the official release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but a word of warning: people are posting spoilers about the game on social media. This morning, while browsing Reddit, I noticed a couple of subreddits sharing screenshots and spoilers for the full game. It’s going to be quite difficult to avoid all these spoilers for the next few weeks. If you don’t want to be spoiled, you might need to cut back your daily dose of social media—and unsubscribe from a few subreddits.

Review keys for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth were sent out last week, and no matter how hard publishers and PR companies try to enforce an NDA, there will always be a few bad apples. It’s unfortunate that the game could be spoiled weeks before its release, highlighting an issue with today’s gaming media, where even smaller YouTube channels can obtain a review key. Of course, there’s also the possibility that some stores have broken street dates, but I haven’t got into the posts with the leaks to confirm this.

In the meantime, you can check out the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth demo, or better yet, play Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion if you haven’t done so already.
