The original Death Stranding was one of the most unique games I’ve ever experienced, and after today’s extensive look at Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, I’m looking forward to its release in 2025. I’m more confused than ever about the sequel’s storyline, but it seems the general gameplay will remain largely unchanged, with Sam Porter Bridges embarking once again on a mission to connect humans. He does, however, get a new companion that reminds me a bit of Mimir from the recent God of War games.
Sony also announced that Kojima will be working on a new action espionage game called Physint—so a spiritual successor to Metal Gear that won’t be called Metal Gear. Production for Physint won’t begin until Death Stranding 2 is completed, so don’t expect to hear much about it until next year at the earliest.
